Insanely Serene

Tired, confused, alone
Vacuum inside my soul
I'm honest, I've always been
I'll never be in your control

I beg not for approval
Of skin, of bones, of blood
A foreign fear inside
Of slipping away unheard

I try, I cry, I die
The tears, the sky, the night
A dark, abandoned cave
Rotting to survive

Enough, the spirit hurts
She's caged, its been a while...

...The wind against my face
The light of being alive.

  3. Was this on euthanasia? It shook me!

  4. ITs complex. In simple terms, I read a fellow XLer's blogpost on euthanasia and compared the life with my life here at XL. Probably the emotions are the same and apply to both. But when I wrote it and read it later, found another two dimensions.

So right now this is a composition about many, many things in the world - including euthanasia.

  10. @ Adrija: Just tried to share the frame of reference of the pitiable souls (not even) living at the mercy of law.

Thanks for the appreciaiton. If you look at the first pic closely, its the beginning of 'breaking free'. She has untied it, somehow!

Thank you! (: Even Veer PRatap was unjustly caged. This poem is a tribute to all those caged souls living at the mercy of others/law/society.

u know what, the blog is no doubt gud, but what is really striking and what i really like the most is the statement just above the comment box- 'If you know what a comment is worth to a blogger, do not spend the rest of your life in guilt!'.....bang on target dude....^m^ :)

  21. This is your best poem by far.
I like it better than your happier pieces because sadness has a mystery to it, something that while being invisible can break down boundaries.

  22. @ Mukesh: Thanks man! Glad you could connect! (:

  23. @ Ishita: Thanks (: And welcome back to my blog! (:

Same here - writing something sad is not something that can be done at one's whims. One has to feel it deep inside and compelled enough to vent it out.

  25. Beautiful..absolutely heart touching..I don't know how you do it..but all the stuff that you've written so far makes amazing sense..the way it sometimes happens when you're in a converstaion with a total stranger and suddenly they tell you something new..but its as though you've known it forever, u know? And this one's a class apart..I mean I read all the comments and from them I do get the background..but i think most people will be able to relate with it for their own reasons, however varied they might be..keep up the good work..

  26. @ Tan: Your first comment out here...welcome!

That's very kind of you (: Its just that when one feels something, expression encompasses a manifold meaning. And when someone else reads it from his/her own frame of reference, connection happens. Its a humbling feeling when someone like you who doesnt even know me can connect with what I write. Thanks a lot! (:

    Stay connected. (:
