Tired, confused, alone
Vacuum inside my soul
I'm honest, I've always been
I'll never be in your control
I beg not for approval
Of skin, of bones, of blood
A foreign fear inside
Of slipping away unheard
I try, I cry, I die
The tears, the sky, the night
A dark, abandoned cave
Rotting to survive
Enough, the spirit hurts
She's caged, its been a while...
...The wind against my face
The light of being alive.
bhai...to be frank, thoda tangent gaya....probably coz I don't know the 'background story'...but good one as usual nonetheless :)
ReplyDeletekoi baat nahi sir...background story toh interpretation pe hai...jaise chaho kar lo aap...(:
ReplyDeleteWas this on euthanasia? It shook me!
ReplyDeleteITs complex. In simple terms, I read a fellow XLer's blogpost on euthanasia and compared the life with my life here at XL. Probably the emotions are the same and apply to both. But when I wrote it and read it later, found another two dimensions.
ReplyDeleteSo right now this is a composition about many, many things in the world - including euthanasia.
Dude wat could say.. I can relate to each word.. probably dis jailed emtion needs some fredom
ReplyDeletei cn totally connect wid d first verse..gr8 poem..im jealous!!
ReplyDeleteeuthanasia?wow!
ReplyDeletewritten with nice words.
and i loved the first pic.infact all d pics, spclly d first with the tied leg."she's caged":)
@ Ankesh: I can understand boss...Tension nahi...something wonderful is waitin just around the corner (:
ReplyDelete@ Jitika: That's wonderful! How I love when people relate with my words (:
ReplyDeleteYou, of all the people, jealous! I'm flattered!
@ Adrija: Just tried to share the frame of reference of the pitiable souls (not even) living at the mercy of law.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the appreciaiton. If you look at the first pic closely, its the beginning of 'breaking free'. She has untied it, somehow!
Thanx for this masterpiece..... i m delighted.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...quite philosophical....must say the pics were nicely co-ordinated....but this post reminds me of veer Zaara....main kaidi number 786....watsay dude...anyway hint of inspirations from Veer pratap singh....:):):)
ReplyDeleteNice post as always....:D
@ Nikhil: Abey thanks mujhe bolna hota hai tere comments pe...tujhe nahi!
ReplyDelete@ Jay: Eid ka chand ko aadab arz hai!
ReplyDeleteThank you! (: Even Veer PRatap was unjustly caged. This poem is a tribute to all those caged souls living at the mercy of others/law/society.
I try, I cry, I die
ReplyDeleteThe tears, the sky, the night
Beautiful lines :)
hey thanks (:
ReplyDelete@ mango guy....i know...kya karein...get very little time to blog myself that am unable to comment on others....so aam-ras ka sewan shuru kiya??? u're supposed to be the brand ambassador of aam......aam guy with not-so-aam blog !!!!!!!!! keep it up....:):)
ReplyDeletehaanji ab toh bade log ho gaye aap! (: thank you sir...will try! (:
ReplyDelete@mango guy....arre no yaar...nothing of that sort..i actually dont want to lose touch with the blogging fraternity...helps in the form of an unwinding tool...
ReplyDeleteu know what, the blog is no doubt gud, but what is really striking and what i really like the most is the statement just above the comment box- 'If you know what a comment is worth to a blogger, do not spend the rest of your life in guilt!'.....bang on target dude....^m^ :)
good...you better dont lose contact! (:
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, a comment or feedback in any sort proves to be a real morale booster. I make it a point to reply to every single comment that comes this way (:
The first pic of "caged legs"..... Touched the heart bhai !
ReplyDeleteI try, I cry, I die....... these words took me somewhere else (deep in thoughts) !
Great Great poetry dude !
This is your best poem by far.
ReplyDeleteI like it better than your happier pieces because sadness has a mystery to it, something that while being invisible can break down boundaries.
@ Mukesh: Thanks man! Glad you could connect! (:
ReplyDelete@ Ishita: Thanks (: And welcome back to my blog! (:
ReplyDeleteSame here - writing something sad is not something that can be done at one's whims. One has to feel it deep inside and compelled enough to vent it out.
@ 建霖: zingaro shaka laka boom boom ouga chaka ouga ouga!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful..absolutely heart touching..I don't know how you do it..but all the stuff that you've written so far makes amazing sense..the way it sometimes happens when you're in a converstaion with a total stranger and suddenly they tell you something new..but its as though you've known it forever, u know? And this one's a class apart..I mean I read all the comments and from them I do get the background..but i think most people will be able to relate with it for their own reasons, however varied they might be..keep up the good work..
ReplyDelete@ Tan: Your first comment out here...welcome!
ReplyDeleteThat's very kind of you (: Its just that when one feels something, expression encompasses a manifold meaning. And when someone else reads it from his/her own frame of reference, connection happens. Its a humbling feeling when someone like you who doesnt even know me can connect with what I write. Thanks a lot! (:
Stay connected. (:
I visited you r blog after a gap today. And the same..soul-sincing, haunting words. Very very touching, and as the above commenter said, everyone has her/his own reason to relate to this piece of class.
ReplyDeleteCarry on, mangoman!
Why the gap?? :x
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words(: I will! (:
Very profound, just like your previous piece of work..You are an artist with words..
ReplyDeleteThats kind of you (: Thanks (:
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea how masterly a stroke this one is? In utter disbelief!
ReplyDeleteTouched so much so that I cannot explain....
And yeah, I dig the new header...Its way too cool!
ReplyDeleteHumbled! What else does a poet ask for than someone loving his words (:
ReplyDeletethanks bhai!
