So close! So far!

They were never strangers
To each other. Even though
They had never met,
They had never talked
He'd been through a lonesome road
And he had suffered enough
He had fought the world
And the devils inside his soul
The walls had been closing in
He was suffocated by the noise
He was tired, way too tired
But he would die to hear Her voice
And there She was finally
In the white robe he had sent
She was an angel, so beautiful
Arms outstretched She came

But in a flash everything changed
Her bosom was all so red
She came and fell into his arms
Trying to utter his name
The bullet that hadnt touched him
She took it for Her "love"
And the voice he fought to hear
Would always remain unheard

  11. Dunno why I felt that I'm in the shoes of the guy being described here and rest wud follow!! Somewhere i felt that this story is abt me..if u skip that guy and girl part
There is a stage of life ...i guess sabki life me aata hoga when it is just a blank face which needs to be read
There is an ongoing fight with what mind thinks is good and the world thinks is bad.
Well...another truth is that this girl also comes in life...which brings the new dimension to the life, the thoughts, the destiny.

  12. @ Sneha: Another dimension!

There's no limit to how much one can imagine! Lovely interpretation there!

    Glad you could connect! (:

  19. hhahaaaa!!!...the quentin wala was the easiesat to cum to my mind....m a romantic wen it cums to imagination...wen its cums to nreal lyf...i hate romance as much as i hate salman khan..complicated, i m..!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ jitsy: THAT was easy!!!!!!!!

and its not that complicated...sab shit-rukh ki films aur mills and boon ka asar hai...!!

    and y hate salman khan???

    ReplyDelete
  21. it may be shit-rukh khan and oders but woh sab written form me potray carna is no piece of cake!!!....n i hate salman cuz i jus hate him....dunno y...sum unkwn reason....

    ReplyDelete
  22. Aree I meant that the apparent paradox that you mentioned of being a romantic but having relationship issues is not at all complicated! Sab Shit rukh ki movies ka asar hai...twisted versions of real life relationships!!

And I join the bandwagon as well...I hate Salman as well...but I got reasons...Somebody should make him understand ki wo dialogues bolke hamare uupar aihsaan nahi karta!

    ReplyDelete
  23. exactly....sallu is lyk dis wannabe supa star n thnks ke thoda si social service karke n "being human"fund strt karke(biased aboout the being human t-shirts though) he cn rule the world, or atleast India...not happening!!!!!!

yeah..dis shit-rukh movies are stupid...supa hyperboles...hate him...abhay deol is my kinda guy n socha na tha n shabd are my kinda movies...very close to reality but still as far from getin real as dey cn get, u understnd?

    ReplyDelete
  24. lol!

Being human t-shirts nice o wot??

Glad to hear from a girl that SRK movies are stupid!

*Same-pinch* Aamir and Abhay Deol are like my two favourite actors!! Socha Na Tha (http://thesleepinginsomniac.blogspot.com/2009/12/rendezvous.html) was unbelievably awesome and so was Oye Lucky..

    And yes, mam, I understand!

    ReplyDelete
  25. being human t-shirts are awesum but it'l cost me my triple of my savings to evn get my hands on one of dem....
n yeah,, shit-rukh movies are liked by crazy romantic fanatics...
n remembr wat i sd..i hate romance but not in books n certain movies...n shit-rukh movies sure dont fall under my categories of favourites...except chakde n swades...atleast dis guy made India aware dat hockey still exists, evn though he did it jus 4 sum million bucks....d national sport is again a topic of discussion for the(infinitesimal) sum...

    ReplyDelete
  26. You know what you should do...write "Being Human" in the same fonts as the tees and get it printed on one! that would be a totally apt reply to the torture we have endured over the years!

And what being human...was hunting human?

chakde and swades rocked big time! But the national sport issue is contentious...just becuase some people made it a protocol and labelled hockey as the naional sport doesnt mean it should be compared to cricket! Cricket is religion! I'm a cricketer and I feel hockey is shit. I'll continue feeling the same regardless of the fact that it has been our national sport for years! There is no basic infrastructure...nobody in urban india plays hockey...it bound to be in abyss!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. it is, i agree...but dude,if its a national sport, please let it not be forgoten...evn keepin ppl updated abt stuff abt dat game can b d answer...d rest depends upon d preferences of the public...atleast a powerful sum1 should tke d initiative to let nt hockey(wether national sport or not) extinct...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dekh I believe if people dont play hockey or dont watch hockey being played live it can never attain a cult status as it was before...no powerful someone can do anything...we need basic infa in place to interest people...rest will follow...till then, I'll be embarassed to call it my national sport!

    ReplyDelete
  29. hmmm...pretty strong views der....m not so much into sports(i dnt consider watchin pool n soft ball n al dose games randomly while surfin channels as makin me a sports fan) so i totally agree with you...hockey was never intrstin...

    ReplyDelete
  30. \m/ Cricket reigns supreme \m/

We've talked about love, relationship, shitrukh, salman, tshirts, hockey and cricket on a post on philosophy!!

    lol!

    ReplyDelete
  31. yeah....words!!!! dey've got a habit of playin wid our inner thots n feelins...make us spil out evrythin abt ourselves evn to total strngers...hehe

Great work. One of your best, undoubtedly.

  51. this expressive style reminds me of an irish poet whose name eludes me at the moment...i used to love his roamantic poems entwined with sadness in the last...ur poem is for me a tribute to that genre..lets call it a befitting tribute...the last lines change the whole paradigm...the poem is a nicely composed one...reminded me of the background visuals from ROAD TO PERDITION..that rainy night...that gloomy night..the difference can be the storyline...another good one out of your box..liked it..no no no..loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Back to find our lost love again! (:

Thats humbling what you said..thanks! (:

Road to Perdition...how apt! I could just not stop thinking about Michael Sullivan...one of my favourite movies!

    very touching.

  57. Double dose of heart touching poetry by the master of words. Romance is in the air. Very very powerful punch to the discerning reader in the second stanza.

    Love your work.
