My God in Ayodhya

Sep30 2010. Today's the verdict. Well, not the final one. But, it's got to be a milestone. The saffrons are there. The greensas well. Will they embrace white and thus complete the Tricolour regardless of the verdict or will they paint the land red? Time will tell, like it has always done in BR Chopra's Mahabharat.

In the meanwhile, what does that man have to say who, in all this hullabaloo around him, has ironically been pushed to the sidelines? He's called by various names. He's Rama, whose place of birth is as contentious as Lindsay Lohan's life. He's Rahim, whose dream of a blemish-free religion has been mercilessly stoned to death.

Probably this is what my God wants to scream out.

dafna do mujhe
chaurahe pe
kabr khod do meri
ya jalaa do
kuch sookhi lakdiyon ke saath

maar to tumne
kal hi diya tha

cheekha tha bahot
pehle
koshishein ki thi
samjhane ki
manaane ki
bataane ki

tum nahi samjhe
koi nahi samjha
ungliyan uthi
uthti rahi

bas
ab numaish mat karo
meri
mere nange jism ki

rooh toh rahi nahi
bahot pehle hi
chhod gayi
sikudi
simti

le jaao mujhe
daal aao kahin
apni is duniya se door
bahot door

waise bhi tumhari is duniya mein rakha kya hai??

  7. @ vicious: Well, nothing happened for sure! But had it been a SC verdict, things might have been uglier. I just hope till the time SC gives it ruling, the issue loses its potence.

The 1st time I read, I thought sookhi lakdiyon meant happy girls
And the 2nd time I read,I thought sookhi lakdiyon meant dry wood

    I didn't read further :P

  16. @ Dipa: Well, not really! For a beginner, sukhi/sookhi and ladkiyan/lakdiyan would mean the same :D

  17. Thanks, Sushant. What's life without spice or sugar? And poetry is not meant to be understood. It's to be made sense of. I hope that made sense!

  18. Awesome..!!
Truly you shape your composition making one voice for the thousands that are present in the crowd ..

But why don't you write that poetry in Hindi format will make it more emphasizing just suggesting rest is your wish.. :)

  19. Thank you, Alcina. Felt nice.

If you mean writing in metre and rhymes, well..I don't know...it just ruins the poetry of the emotions. It should just flow, unleashed. Thanks for taking interest. (:

  20. Watch Prasoon Joshi on this matter on NDTV (Youtube). These bloodsucking politicians cannot let the world to be at rest. How will they make their moolah otherwise. Very well written, as usual.

  21. Just like the one on Kashmir, you let life flow on paper again. Exception is the new usual.

  25. Bloddy blood sucking politicians are only ones to blame. We were living harmoniously before also. But the selfish people on the top made sentiments high of everyone.

  27. Well written Varun. This is how our God must be feeling, helpless. I feel sorry for this country and I feel sorry for ourselves. What has the world come to?!
