Meri Rajjo, meri laado
Baarah baras ki ho gayi aaj
Gubbare laaye hain iske chachu
Chhupte chhupate
Karfoo laga hai na ghaati mein
Nikalna manaa hai
Apne ghar se apne hi bageeche mein
Nikalna manaa hai
Teen gubbare laaye hain
Teeno laal
Bada pasand hai rajjo ko
Bachpan se koi aur rang
Dekha hi nahi na bechari ne
Raaton ko jab shor machta hai
Sannate ka
Neend nahi aati laado ko
Kehti hai ammi, kahani sunao
Sona hai
Thapkiyan deti hun usey
Is dozakh ke dard ke saath
Is dozakh ke jhooth ke saath
"Nahi rahe jo baag bageeche
Kal se dekhna fir se khilenge
Tootey jo saawan ke jhooley
Kal se dekhna fir se hilenge
Aag ka gola nahi girega
Tu ghar se bahar niklegi
So ja bachche, laado so ja
Kal se thandi hawa bahegi"
--
Ek awaz si aayi toh hai
Dil mera dehla to hai
Rajjo, uth ja, Rajjo
Bahot so liya
Uth ja na
Rajjo

ReplyDelete@ Jai: Thanks bhai! It is indeed about Kashmir and every such place where innocent civilians have been trapped in fire for ages.
ReplyDelete@ BI: Says a lot about you (:
ReplyDelete@ Saumya: Thanks! (: If nothing else, we can at least make others feel the same way we feel about the shit going around in this world.

@ Sapna: Know what, the so ja chanda song of mission kashmir was stuck in my head when i wrote this. hence the effect :)
ReplyDelete@ Nehha: Thanks (:
ReplyDelete@ Aayush: Thanks bhai! Bas experiment sa tha!!
ReplyDeleteDude!!!! Rad. It was so smooth flowing. Never seemed forced, the emotions. Well built. One could feel the pain of the mother.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, mangoman. Bilkul kaagaz pe utar ke rakh diya dard ko. I almost got goosebumps...
ReplyDelete"Kal se thandi hawa bahegi" Masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteI just hope ye thandi hawa har jagah bahe, most of all here in UP after today's verdict.
Well thought of and well implemented. So beautifully you mangeed to capture the emotion of that helpless mother and her scared child in poetry of surreal level. Hats off.
ReplyDelete@ abhishek: thanks man, probably the lack of rhyme enabled it!
ReplyDelete@ Prajakta: Thanks! Glad you liked it!!!
ReplyDelete@ akshhar: I so hope man!!! Today is so very critical!
ReplyDelete@ Shahenshah: Thanks, means a lot (:

ReplyDeleteTouched! Wish it had a picture to complete..
ReplyDeleteIts really upsetting to see how the normalcy of common people are affected.
I could understand it, the very first time I read :)
I thought of putting up a picture but could not get any that conveyed the same spirit.
ReplyDeleteThanks! You're making progress. Understood it in the first read!

ReplyDelete@ SFS: Thanks, man! But where was Aishwarya in Omkaara?? Kareena, I figured.
ReplyDeleteGoose-bumpey. Brilliant piece of realistic writing, genius.
ReplyDeleteThanks, DP. Glad the words could make you feel that way. Okay, seriously :D
ReplyDeleteVery very touching. You made it all so picturesque and empathetic rather than sympathetic. Hats off to you to bring to light the day to day happenings in the valley.
ReplyDeleteI just made an attempt. I'm happy you liked it, Prajakta.
